Yalata 2012 Sports Carnival 13-15 April 2012

After Yalata's Sports Carnival in 2011 proved to be such a successful event and loads of fun for eveyone who attended, we have decided to have another Sports Carnival in 2012! There will be a Disco on Friday night with prizes to be won, and a Battle of the Bands event on Saturday night, with a trophy to go out!

The first footy kick off will be at 11:00am on Friday 13th with the Grand Final on Sunday 15th!  Yalata is excited and looks forward to seeing your community there!

With a very special thanks to Nigel Asplin and Kristy Richards for such great leadership in organising and promoting this event!  And of course all of the other people, Yalata Community and staff who are making this happen!

Maureen (Mima) Smart OAM

As many would already be aware, our very own Mima Smart has been awarded the Order of Australia medal in the 2012 Australia Day Honours.  Mima has worked hard for her Community and is a member of several Boards.  Mima is Yalata Council's Chairperson.  Mima is due to attend the awards ceremony at Government House in April and we will be sure to post photos of Mima's amazing success!
