Community Stories


Yalata Youth NAIDOC Ball was held at Nundroo Roaodhouse on Monday 16th July, 21 youths from Yalata attended the ball. Sitting down to a two course meal, with entertainment from Matt and Sita from Penong and DJ Roy from Yalata. Youth's that attended were; Maxine Bridley, Petria Queama, Lana Baker, Samantha Woods, Shareena May, Felicity Stewart, Caresha Peel, Kirsten Koko, Georgina Gibson, Adrianne Peters and Alinta Smart. Boys were; Wintjima, Silas Ken, Phillip Kugena, Franklin Bryant, Liam Stewart, Neville Gunter, Wesley Smart, Brendon Sandimar, Swayne Day and Vaughan Day. Bell of the Ball went to Alinta Smart and Bow of the ball went to Swayne Day. Best Dancers were: Brandon Sandimar, Silas Ken, Liam Stewart, Maxine Bridley, Georgina Gibson, Lana Baker, Erica Bryant, Shareena May, Alinta Smart.

Big thanks to the Nundroo Roadhouse workers for dancing the night away with the kids, and everyone enjoying the DANCE BATTLE between the young fullas and the workers, it was deadly.
